GPO is a capability of Microsoft® Windows® which provides a set of rules to centralize management and configuration of applications and users' settings in an Active Directory® environment. GPO allows IT administrators to hand pick a set of functionalities they want to enable/disable in their corporate environments and generate the corresponding GPO.
With GPO, enterprise IT organizations can ensure the consistency of the software environment across their vast user base. This significantly reduces IT administrators' time since they don't need to help each end user change the default software settings. For end users, they no longer are required to figure out how to make these configuration changes themselves.
