Wholesale Sports Outdoor Outfitters to Relocate Spokane Store
(firmenpresse) - SPOKANE, WASHINGTON -- (Marketwire) -- 05/04/12 -- Wholesale Sports Outdoor Outfitters (WSS), one of the Pacific Northwest's largest retailers of hunting, fishing and camping gear announced today that it will relocate its store in the Spokane Valley Mall to a new 34,000 square foot location in NorthTown Mall at the corner of North Division and Wellesley in Spokane.
According to Glenn Bingley, Chief Operating Officer of Wholesale Sports, this is the first time the retailer has chosen an indoor mall site for one of its locations. The other sites in the company's network of 25 stores are located in power centers in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho and western Canada. "While this move is a departure from our traditional stand-alone real estate strategy, we see it as a great opportunity to advance our brand and create a better shopping experience for our core customers."
The Spokane store opened under the Sportsman's Warehouse banner at its current location in 2001. WSS acquired 15 Sportsman's Warehouse locations just before the Salt Lake City based retailer filed for Chapter 11 protection. Wholesale Sports will use the move to begin rebranding its US stores. "While the Wholesale Sports name has been on our stores since the acquisition, we have waited until now to begin transforming the interiors. The new store will feature a layout, fixtures, finishes and visual merchandising that will improve the shopping experience and help differentiate us in a very competitive market."
