Vineyard Networks and LSI Partner to Accelerate Deep Packet Inspection

(firmenpresse) - KELOWNA, BC -- (Marketwire) -- 05/07/12 -- Vineyard Networks and LSI are excited to announce their collaboration to provide a next-generation Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) OEM solution that offers both unparalleled performance and ease of integration for network infrastructure vendors.
In this strategic collaboration, Vineyard's next-generation DPI engine (NAVL - Network Application Visibility Library) has been integrated with the advanced hardware architecture of LSI's Axxia™ communication processor family of products to accelerate deep application recognition and metadata extraction of network traffic.
"We've integrated our next-generation DPI engine right into an LSI Axxia™ powered PCIe network interface card," says Jason Richards, CEO at Vineyard Networks. "This solution provides wicked-fast application recognition and easy integration for third party network solutions vendors looking to add DPI to their platforms."
"Datacenters and mobile networks are contending with massive traffic growth, and need solutions to recognize applications and tune network performance to deliver a great user experience," said Noy Kucuk, Vice President of Marketing, Networking Components Division, LSI. "By combining Vineyard's NAVL DPI software with the hardware acceleration engines in the LSI Axxia processor, manufacturers have an easy-to-deploy solution for application recognition."
Both companies will be offering demonstrations of this integrated solution in their booths at Interop Las Vegas 2012, May 6-10, at Mandalay Bay.
