Sing Out for Seva: A Benefit for Native American Health Programs Sunday, May 20th, 2012 at 8:00pm PDT
(firmenpresse) - BERKELEY, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/07/12 -- Bay Area cultural icon Wavy Gravy will host a benefit concert on Sunday, May 20th, 2012 at the Rio Theatre in Santa Cruz. The show will feature Steve Earle, John Trudell, Peter Rowan, Nina Gerber, Jim Lauderdale, Dave Alvin and Jeremy Goodfeather performing in support of Native American Community Health Program.
About Seva's NACH Program -- Native Americans have the highest prevalence of diabetes in the U.S. Indian Country's health disparities disproportionately affect vulnerable, low-income people and are largely preventable. For 30 years Seva has supported Native American grassroots organizations dedicated to building healthy Native communities and sustainable programs. Seva supports partner projects that promote a more comprehensive concept of health by restoring indigenous knowledge, traditional farming methods, environmental wellness and self-reliant health prevention strategies that lead to diabetes-free Native communities.
Tickets to the benefit are $45 for general admission. A limited amount of VIP tickets are available for $150.
