New Data Shows Flat Job Growth in BC's Tech Sector

(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/09/12 -- New data of BC's top 100 technology companies shows a .03% decline from 2011 to 2012 in new staff hires.

The data, compiled by FreshGigs.ca, a Canadian jobsite specializing in marketing, communications and creative jobs, looked at the list of Top 100 High-Tech Companies in BC published by BIV Research.

Of the 100 companies 16 reported decreasing their headcount. The biggest declines were seen at Rogers Communications and Philips Ledalite who had 130 and 100 less staff respectively in 2012 than the previous year.

27 companies reported increasing their staff count. The largest of those was Westport Innovations Inc. and Capcom Game Studio who added 153 and 65 new employees to their offices over the last year.
