Zacuto Brings Home Three Prestigious Telly Awards
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 05/16/12 -- The 33rd Annual Telly Awards have announced the winners for 2012 and Zacuto has done it again! Over 11,000 entries are submitted annually and Zacuto rose to the top to claim three awards. The announcement came late April.
For 2012 Zacuto won a Silver Award for their online documentary series bts: a web series with 12,833 votes, a Silver Award for their informational online program The Great Camera Shootout 2011 with 12,818 votes, and the 2012 Bronze Award for their documentary online segment of FilmFellas Cast 7: Webisode 30, What is Truth with 12,833 votes.
The Telly Awards were founded in 1978 to honor excellence in local, regional and cable TV commercials; non-broadcast video and TV program categories were soon added. The mission of the awards is to strengthen the visual arts community by inspiring, promoting, and supporting creativity.
Zacuto is no stranger to award-winning programming. Last year The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognized Zacuto Films with four Emmy Nominations for their programs bts: Hit the Ground Running, FilmFellas; Commitment to the Craft, and The Great Camera Shootout 2011: The Tipping Point. Zacuto Editor, Karen Abad also received a nomination for Outstanding Crafts for her editing work on The Great Camera Shootout 2011: The Tipping Point. In November of 2011 Zacuto's very first web series, FilmFellas, came home from the 53rd Annual Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards with an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement for Interview/Discussion Programming.
Quality and content go a long way. Web series creators Steve Weiss and Jens Bogehegn have spared no expenses to bring in some of the best talent from around the world to discuss a range of topics in filmmaking. Their guest line-up has included ASC Cinematographers, award-winning filmmakers, wedding and event videographers, and distribution and social media specialists.
