(OTCBB: FMNL) ("FORUM") CEO Dan Clozza stated today that Forum has developed a world class propriety software analysis and Life Settlement tracking system which currently tracks over Ten (10) Billion USD of Life Settlements death benefits representing over 1,700 insured individuals, with an average age of over 75 years. A Life Settlement is the sale of an existing life insurance policy to a third party for more than its cash surrender value, but less than its net death benefit.
Insurance companies pay out death benefits annually to a very small fraction of all policy holders after possible decades of Life Insurance premium payments. Insurance companies saved $1.1 Trillion dollars when 19.8 million policy holders stopped making payments in comparison the industry paid death benefits on 2.2 million policies(1). Forum believes that there exists a better alternative than an 88% lapse rate for policy holders similar to the way a reverse mortgage provides financial options for many seniors in retirement.
For investors Life Settlement products can provide up to double digit returns as a US dollar denominated investment having the security of been underwritten by AAA rated United States Life Insurance Companies. Importantly the uncorrelated investment is not dependent or affected by stock market fluctuations, economic or geopolitical factors. Acquiring policies at a better than an 85% discount to face value of death benefit in combination with multiple lives of more than 150 individuals can provide actuarial analysis for statistical diversification.
