WSL Completes Superdrug Warehouse Renovation in Just 16 Weeks
Independent specialist storage supplier WSL, has successfully completed a significant warehouse overhaul project for major UK retailer, Superdrug.
(firmenpresse) - LEEDS, ENGLAND -- (Marketwire) -- 05/28/12 -- (WSL) has completed a GBP 150k warehouse renovation project for national chemist retailer, Superdrug.
WSL was assigned by the chain store retailer to maximise storage space in its South Elmsall warehouse. WLS was the principle contractor, completing the project in just 16 weeks.
The operation to develop the warehouse is part of Superdrug's online expansion programme. WSL successfully completed the aim to create extra space to accommodate picking fulfilment.
WLS finished the task of transforming the warehouse into a well-organized workspace, increasing the space for a more dynamic and approachable working environment.
Installing a 5m- high, 1000m2 mezzanine floor, WSL erected short-span shelving for the picking floor and designed the layout around the workbench areas. This allows employees to ensure that packing and sorting can be done to the best of their ability within an efficient and effective workspace.
The practical yet effortlessly stylish mezzanine has been restructured in a way that is more suitable for the workers and organisation. The initial mezzanine was built over a storage area of which WSL dismantled and reinstalled, reducing the height racking under the mezzanine.
In addition to this, a number of end-of-run barriers, mezzanine guards, and pallet racking post protection units were installed.
As well as improving the space within the Superdrug packing warehouse, WSL were also contracted to install low-energy lighting, smoke detection and sprinkler systems.
Part K staircases leading to the mezzanine were also erected. All the essential packing and storage structures on this project were manufactured in-house by WSL.
