Networking, Sub-Track: Network Security
Securely virtualizing guest operating systems alongside concurrently running real-time applications on the same processor is a viable design option for many embedded applications. The session will first summarize the pros and cons of today's popular embedded virtualization architectures and then compare and contrast the features and benefits of secure virtualization specific to Freescale's QorIQ and i.MX6 processor families and applications in networking, automotive, industrial and consumer.

Green Hills will offer the following demonstrations in the Green Hills booth:

High quality, feature-rich, nonintrusive debugging tools dramatically reduce time-to-market and increase device quality. Green Hills will demonstrate its industry-leading MULTI tools suite, , source-level and , and the latest in solutions, running on Freescale's multicore QorIQ P5020 processor.

Green Hills will demonstrate a dual-persona, Android-based commercial tablet based on a Freescale i.MX53 Cortex-A8-based SoC. provides a secure and safe virtualized platform for Android and can be configured to support other guest operating systems. It securely separates and assigns peripherals to each Android persona and can safely host additional real-time and/or security-critical services.

Green Hills will demonstrate its INTEGRITY RTOS for i.MX 6 series processors featuring the latest in 2D and 3D graphics acceleration. This demonstration will also feature integrated middleware components from Green Hills Total Solutions Partners. Icon Labs' Floodgate embedded firewall and Real Time Logic's Barracuda application server will be featured enabling secure web services and remote management.

Achieving freedom from interference for safety-related applications is a requirement for achieving high levels of functional safety in automotive and industrial systems. The INTEGRITY separation kernel architecture is ideally suited for isolating components in a multi-level system by providing absolute freedom from interference. This software platform will be demonstrated on a Freescale Qorivva MPC5675K evaluation board.

In Freescale's booth, Green Hills will also demonstrate:

Green Hills will demonstrate its industry-leading MULTI tools suite, best-in-class compilers, source-level and TimeMachine trace-enabled debuggers, and the latest in trace probe solutions for the PX Series of processors.
