Solheim Lutheran Home Executive Director Norma Heaton Resigns
(firmenpresse) - EAGLE ROCK, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/20/12 -- Solheim Lutheran Home announced today that Norma Heaton will resign as Executive Director on June 30, 2012 after 16 years of service in that position. Mrs. Heaton is leaving to travel with her husband to Switzerland, Northern California and Japan as he takes a sabbatical to study earthquakes.
In addition to Mrs. Heaton's tenure as Executive Director, she was Solheim's Controller and CFO for seven years and a Board Member for three years combining for 26 years of total dedicated service.
"Norma's caring leadership will be greatly missed by the Board and all of the Solheim staff and residents but her many accomplishments over the years have left a great legacy and have been instrumental in shaping Solheim into the quality senior care facility it is today. We will do our utmost to make sure that we continue to carry on her excellence and compassion," said Audrey Bahr, Chairman of the Board at Solheim Lutheran Home.
Mrs. Heaton is credited with guiding Solheim Lutheran Home's innovative approach to senior care "Aging in Place" which recognized that as a person ages, more support is needed to maintain one's quality of life. That concept led to Solheim's combining residential and assisted living levels in the same area.
Because of Mrs. Heaton's forward thinking, while Executive Director she facilitated the purchase of the Eagle Rock Lumberyard property for Solheim's future expansion. Mrs. Heaton also helped bring a dedicated Wellness Center and full-time Wellness Coordinator to Solheim. During her tenure Solheim opened the Morgan & Anna Halvorson Special Care Unit to provide special care for individuals with memory loss and other cognitive impairments and Solheim constructed a Rehabilitation Center to provide short-term and long-term rehabilitation services to its senior residents.
In addition to being Solheim Lutheran Home's Executive Director, Mrs. Heaton has served as a member and chair of Aging Services of California, a member of the Eagle Rock Chamber of Commerce, the Lutheran Health Ministries of the Foothills and the Women's Twentieth Century Club.
Solheim Lutheran Home plans to announce Mrs. Heaton's successor before she departs on June 30, 2012.
