The Calgary Food Bank heads to Sicamous

(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/03/12 -- The will deliver 10 pallets of non-perishable food, bottled water and paper products to the in Sicamous, B.C. later this week.
"In times of crisis, the is here to respond to the emergency food needs of our community," says James McAra, Food Bank CEO. "Sometimes, our community extends beyond the city limits. This is one of those times."
Through a generous donation of transportation made by Light Speed Logistics, cereal, pasta, granola bars, bottled water, cleaning products and more will leave Calgary for Sicamous Thursday morning.
Photo & Interview opportunity: a Light Speed Logistics truck will load up at the Calgary Food Bank on Wednesday evening, July 4, between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., in preparation for their early morning departure on Thursday July 5.
The distributes healthy emergency food to those in need. We respond not only to individuals, families and agencies in Calgary, but also to communities beyond our city limits. Because of our abundant Food Industry partners here in Calgary we have been able to respond to multiple crises including the fires in Kelowna and Slave Lake, and the floods in Brandon and now Sicamous. Together we are working to create hunger-free communities!
