Jon Beatty Named President of IAE

(firmenpresse) - GLASTONBURY, CT -- (Marketwire) -- 07/09/12 -- -- IAE has today announced the appointment of Jon Beatty as its president. He succeeds Ian Aitken, who has held the position since 2010 and will be returning to Rolls-Royce.

Ian Aitken did a tremendous job during his tenure, presiding over changes in the consortium, adding a new application and expanding market share."

Under Aitken's regime, IAE extended its collaboration agreement to 2045. It added its first military application of the V2500 on Embraer's KC-390. IAE continued expanding its capabilities by developing V2500 SelectTwo™. Fleet hours grew exponentially, backlog increased and the customer base rose to about 200. Many milestones were achieved, including the delivery of the 5,000th V2500 engine.

Beatty was formerly president of IAE from 2007 to 2009 and most recently served as vice president of Airline Customers at Pratt & Whitney. He has held various positions with the company, including Operational Commercial Engine Programs, Program Director for V2500, and was an associate member of the IAE Executive Board.

IAE is a multinational aero engine consortium whose shareholders comprise of Pratt & Whitney (NYSE: UTX), Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines. To date, more than 5,000 V2500 engines have been delivered and nearly 2,000 more engines are on order with close to 200 customers around the world.
