MEDIA ADVISORY: Junior Reporters Get To Share the Latest News and Their Views of the Calgary Stampede
- BMO Junior Reporter contest winners will interview Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi, rodeo cowboys and other special guests at BMO Kids' Day

(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/10/12 -- BMO Bank of Montreal and the Calgary Stampede invite media to come and meet two young aspiring reporters as they interview Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi and report live from BMO Kids' Day on July 11th.
The two winners of the 6th annual Junior Reporters Contest will each receive a $2,000 BMO Intuition RESP (Registered Education Savings Plan). In addition, they'll receive Rodeo and Grandstand tickets, a western outfit, and midway-ride coupons.
BJ Rogi, an eight-year old boy from De Winton, Alberta, is in grade two at Heritage Heights School. BJ discovered the contest online. He then submitted his story, entitled "The Calgary Stampede is Older than My Grandpa," which talks about how many 100th anniversary-themed things you can do at the Stampede.
Ellery Donald, a nine-year old girl from Calgary, Alberta, submitted a news story, entitled "Together $20 Goes a Long Way!", which focuses on the great things you can do at the Stampede with only $20. Ellery is a fourth grader at Father James Whelihan School.
The win also benefits each junior reporter's school. Heritage Heights School and Father James Whelihan School will each receive a $1,000 prize from BMO for school supplies.

About BMO and the Calgary Stampede
BMO Bank of Montreal's ties to the Calgary Stampede are long and remarkable. The relationship between BMO and the Calgary Stampede is the oldest business relationship in Western Canada, dating back to 1884. We have been the banker to the Calgary Exhibition since 1899 when lands were christened at Victoria Park. The Agricultural Society had purchased 94 acres of land from the Dominion of Canada and built a race track, cattle sheds and an exhibition building. And BMO continued as the banker in 1912 when the first rodeo took place and it became the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede.
