Demartek evaluated both VeloBit HyperCache and a competing software solution from FlashSoft (SanDisk) in simulated enterprise environments. The evaluation, commissioned by VeloBit, included multiple tests on Linux and VMware systems using both high-end PCIE and commodity SATA SSDs. The tests measured performance using a range of standard industry benchmarks.
VeloBit HyperCache delivered the highest performance of any host-based SSD caching solution that Demartek has ever tested. Additionally, VeloBit increased performance to such a degree that VeloBit's software, paired with commodity SATA SSD, outperformed competing caching software paired with much more expensive PCIE-based SSD.
