Save the Children Canada's Patricia Erb Visits Burkina Faso
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 07/12/12 -- The Sahel region of West and Central Africa is in the throes of a hunger and refugee crisis. Over 18 million people are in the midst a severe food crisis and the lives of over one million children are at risk. The UN Refugee Agency reports that over 200,000 Malians are now refugees from political turmoil at home, fleeing to countries already struggling to cope with the hunger emergency.
Save the Children the leading independent children's organization working in 120 countries has been urgently trying to prevent this crisis and save lives since the early warning signs in 2011. President and CEO, Patricia Erb will be visiting Burkina Faso to assess two of the many Save the Children emergency response projects across the reason.
