AssetWorks Solution to Help Tennessee Department of General Services Warehousing and Distribution Division Streamline Surplus Property Management

(firmenpresse) - PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/18/12 -- AssetWorks Inc., a leading provider of solutions, today announced that the Tennessee Department of General Services (DGS) Warehousing and Distribution Division has signed a contract for a comprehensive solution from AssetWorks. The solution fully integrates with the AssetWorks application, FleetFocus, which the State of Tennessee already relies on to manage its fleet of 12,000 vehicles.

Among the modules to be used by the DGS Warehousing and Distribution Division are the AssetWorks Counter Sales and Web Surplus modules. These modules allow the division to integrate retail functionality into their program. With the Web Surplus module, surplus property can be published in a Web storefront and redistributed to eligible recipients or sold to the general public.

The DGS Warehousing and Distribution Division will also be utilizing AssetWorks' State Surplus, Transfer, and Federal Surplus modules. The integrated solution can help the division save time and improve accuracy by minimizing data re-entry, providing seamless access to data and maximizing transaction efficiency.

The Tennessee Department of General Services Division of Warehousing and Distribution provides redistribution of state and federal surplus property to state agencies, local governments, eligible non-profit health and educational organizations, and service educational activities. The division, which currently serves all Tennessee state agencies and over 600 organizations, manages over 2,200 transaction requests per year for over 54,700 items.
