Hanszen Laporte Adds Distinguished Attorney to Its Team
(firmenpresse) - HOUSTON, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 07/19/12 -- Attorney Jeffrey L. Dorrell has joined the Houston law firm of Hanszen Laporte, announced Kent M. Hanszen.

After graduating from the University of Texas in 1977, Mr. Dorrell joined Houston-based Coastal Corporation (now El Paso). During his tenure there, Mr. Dorrell became the youngest member of the board of directors of the National Petroleum Refiners Association and the youngest president in the history of the Southwest Chemical Association while earning a law degree in night studies at the University of Houston in 1991.
In 1997, Mr. Dorrell co-founded the law firm of Dorrell & Chamberlain, L.L.P., later Dorrell & Farris, L.P. In 2009, Dorrell & Farris, L.P., moved its client base to Escamilla, Poneck & Cruz, LLP, where Mr. Dorrell continued his trial and appellate litigation practice as a partner on a team of 24 lawyers with offices in San Antonio, Houston, Laredo, and Mexico City. Mr. Dorrell has represented clients in courtrooms in Texas, Illinois, Louisiana, New York, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and in the U.S. Supreme Court.
In 2004, Mr. Dorrell was voted by the readers of H Texas Magazine as one of Houston's "Lawyers on the Fast Track." In 2008, Texas Lawyer chose Mr. Dorrell as an "Impact Player" -- one of the 10 lawyers who had the greatest impact on the law of Texas in 2008. In April 2011, Texas Lawyer named Mr. Dorrell "Appellate Lawyer of the Week" after he obtained a rare writ of mandamus from the Texas Supreme Court.
