Industry Veteran to Lead Strategic Technology Efforts

Michael joins 33Across with over 20 years of experience in the technology industry spanning research and development, software development, product management, executive management, venture capital, and entrepreneurship. He was most recently the Entrepreneur-in-Residence at , where he focused on new ventures in mobile and e-commerce. As CTO, Michael will be responsible for 33Across's technological vision, strategy, development, and technical operations.
Michael is the third person to join 33Across's executive ranks in recent weeks, adding to the executive team's 60% growth since the beginning of this year. In late June, 33Across Chung Cheong as Vice President of Product Management and Neil Fried as Vice President of Business Development. Additionally, the company that it had doubled its capital with a growth round fundraise of $13.1 million.

Prior to Idealab, Michael served as CTO of Snap Technologies, a Mayfield/Idealab backed contextual-advertising technology start up. From 1998 to 2004, he directed profitable technology investments for Vulcan Capital, owned by Microsoft co-founder, Paul Allen. Michael was the co-creator of the search engine for Infoseek, one of the first web portals. He also co-founded two companies, including EmailLabs, which was acquired by Lyris. Michael's career encompasses product and development roles, beginning at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC). He holds a BS in Computer Science from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.
