RBC Chooses 100 Per Cent Renewable Energy from Bullfrog Power(R) for the 2012 RBC Canadian Open

Canada's National Open Championship is set to take place from July 23 to 29 at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club in Ontario.
The Hamilton Golf and Country Club, which is certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, is a venue renowned for its efforts to protect and sustain the wildlife and natural resources. During the tournament, RBC will bullfrogpower the course's facilities, including the clubhouse, pro shop, maintenance facilities, storage building, exterior lighting and pump house.
By choosing green energy for the 2012 RBC Canadian Open, RBC is reducing the event's environmental impact, increasing awareness of the importance of renewable energy in Canada, and helping create a cleaner, healthier world. Purchasing green electricity and green natural gas for the event is part of RBC's organization-wide commitment to environmental sustainability and supplements the many environmentally-progressive practices being employed at this year's tournament.
RBC continues its own tradition of environmental responsibility by choosing Bullfrog Power for the tournament. In 2005, RBC became the first bank to support clean, renewable energy through Bullfrog Power. Bullfrog's electricity comes exclusively from wind and hydro facilities that have been certified as low impact by Environment Canada under its EcoLogoM program-instead of from polluting sources like coal, oil, natural gas and nuclear. Bullfrog's green natural gas product is produced in Canada at a landfill gas project in Quebec. The facilities meet strict environmental standards as defined by ICF International, a global consulting firm that specializes in environmental issues. Bullfrog Power uses the collective demand of its customers to support the development of new renewable generation in Canada.
