ROVEMA Global Packaging Group acquires Hassia – Redatron GmbH, Butzbach, and the packaging unit of Piltz Verpackungstechnik GmbH, Heidenheim.

ROVEMA Global Packaging Group, LLC, has retroactively to 01/01/2009 acquired the Hassia-Redatron GmbH, Butzbach and will also acquire the packaging unit of Piltz Verpackungstechnik, Heidenheim effective on 01/06/2009.
With the acquisition of the Piltz’s packaging unit the company’s name will be changed to Hassia-Piltz GmbH, based in Butzbach, Hessen, Germany.
In close geographic proximity is located ROVEMA Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH, Fernwald, a unit of ROVEMA Global Packaging Group, LLC, a leading global manufacturer of packaging machines and complete packaging systems for the most diverse applications and products.
„The machine range of the Hassia-Piltz Group perfectly complements the ROVEMA Portfolio. With the single- and multi-lane form/fill/seal machines for 3- and 4-side sealed bags we will now be able to meet the markets needs for portion and petite packs.
Further synergy effects are expected in the packaging of fluids. This segment that has already partially targeted successfully by ROVEMA still shows huge potential for growth, which we will greatly benefit from.” said Klaus Kraemer, CEO of the ROVEMA Global packaging group.
For Alexander Piltz the takeover by ROVEMA is a satisfactory resolution:
„ It has been important to me to hand-over the packaging segment of my group to a reliable company that will continue my life’s work. This also assures that the unit of the Piltz group and respective employees will be here for a long time” states Piltz.
Both companies, ROVEMA and Hassia–Redatron, were founded more then 50 years ago and belong to the biggest employers in the region. ROVEMA Global Packaging Group feels compelled to carry on this tradition and history.
„Our priority and objective is to safeguard employment and create new jobs in the future. Moreover we do see an obligation to maintain the tradition of the Hassia-Redatron company in Middle-Hessen. We don’t want other investors to transfer the know-how and create a competition in the long run“ Kraemer explains.
Within the coming months ROVEMA’s sales organization will manage all the activities of Hassia-Piltz. Integration of the service and spare parts department will take effect immediately and is planned to move in newly 2008 newly ROVEMA Customer Service Center.
