AURELIUS acquires chemical group ISOCHEM

Munich, 22 February 2010 - Munich-based industrial holding AURELIUS AG
(ISIN: DE000A0JK2A8) has agreed with the French state-owned SNPE Group,
Paris, upon the complete acquisition of ISOCHEM SA, Paris. ISOCHEM is a
leading provider of fine chemicals as well as phosgene and phosgene
derivatives for clients of the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, agrochemical and
intermediate sector. The company recorded annual sales of 113 million euros
with a total of 530 employees. ISOCHEM produces at four French
manufacturing sites and in Kazincbarcika, Hungary, and is also represented
in the US, Great Britain and Germany.
'Aurelius is a strong and serious partner for the successful future of
ISOCHEM,' says Antoine Gendry, CEO of SNPE.
The purchase price and terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. The
acquisition of ISOCHEM is subject to approval by the French government and
the responsible antitrust authorities. By this transaction AURELIUS has
increased the number of its portfolio companies to a total of fifteen again
and has invested in a chemical enterprise for the very first time so far.
AURELIUS will support its new portfolio company particularly with regard to
considerable opportunities for growth such as entering new markets and
developing new products, technologies and customer-specific solutions.
AURELIUS also plans to intensify the international distribution especially
in the US and in Eastern Europe and to improve all operational processes.
