Release of New Mobile App SDK Makes Real-Time Facial Analysis and Expression Tracking Available to Those Building on iOS

For the first time ever, the new SDK gives iOS mobile app developers the ability to easily integrate the real-time Live Driver technology into everything from character animation, video chat, and user-created content to augmented reality applications, and social networks. The SDK uses the onboard camera found on iPads and iPhones to instantly capture, analyze and replicate the user's facial expressions, gestures and emotions.

Live Driver outputs facial tracking data and animation values for every frame of video at over 30 frames per second, giving users the ability to control their device using their face and head movements. The software is robust, designed to work in a wide range of arbitrary lighting conditions, and is optimized for a variety of appearances, including race, age, facial hair and glasses.
The Live Driver SDK is a lightweight framework designed to either be integrated into a rendering engine to provide animation or used as an input device to other applications. An Android version of the SDK is currently in development.
