Global Company Becomes Official Data Storage Provider for the San Francisco 49ers


(firmenpresse) - SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/15/12 -- The San Francisco 49ers have taken another step toward the team's goal to provide a symphony of technology services for the new Santa Clara stadium, and the latest member of the orchestra is , based in Mountain View, California. The 49ers today announced Violin Memory as a Founding Partner of the stadium. The long-term partnership inks the global company as the 49ers official and exclusive data storage provider for the 68,500 seat stadium that will open for the 2014 NFL season, as well as for the remainder at Candlestick.

"The 49ers are creating strategic partnerships with some of the world's most innovative companies to showcase a world-class fan experience," said 49ers CEO Jed York. "Our major stadium partnerships are built on a platform of sustainability and technology. Violin Memory is one of the first Founding Partners and the company's flash Memory Array systems will be critical to achieving our goals."

Violin's products and expertise will provide key building blocks in the technology infrastructure of the stadium, and in turn, the company will have exclusive branding in the suite tower, a signature feature of the new stadium. Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

Team leadership said the alliance is an important step for the building.

The stadium in Santa Clara will be the new home to the San Francisco 49ers. It was designed by HNTB and is being built by Turner/Devcon; the stadium is expected to be one of the world's best outdoor sports and entertainment centers, setting the standard for the next generation of sports venues. The $1.2 billion venue will have 1.85 million square feet, seat approximately 68,500 and will feature an expected 165 luxury suites and 9,000 club seats.
