Eagle Star Minerals Further Strengthens Technical Team With the Addition of Dr. Lino R. Freitas
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/16/12 -- Eagle Star Minerals Corp. (TSX VENTURE: EGE)(PINKSHEETS: ELGSF)(FRANKFURT: E6R) ("Eagle Star" or "the Company") is pleased to announce, and welcome the newest addition to its technical team, Dr. Lino R. Freitas.
Dr. Freitas is an expert in extractive metallurgy with over 35 years of experience. He began his metallurgical engineering career in 1976 and obtained his Master's Degree from the Catholic University, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1979. He continued on to complete his Doctorate Degree in 1983 at Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, Canada.
Dr. Freitas worked with Vale in their Centre of Technology for over 25 years, developing processes for beneficiation and upgrading of phosphate and potassium ores from various projects around the world including the Bayovar phosphate project in Peru. He has published over 37 papers in specialized magazines and technical-scientific conferences and is the co-owner of 16 patents concerning beneficiation processes.
Dr. Freitas joins the Eagle Star team as Senior Manager, Technical Services. To date he has assisted Eagle Star with its chemical and metallurgical tests at their Canabrava block. Going forward, he will be responsible for developing the optimal beneficiation process for the Canabrava phosphate based on analysis of bulk sampling taken from the project area. In addition Dr. Freitas will also be supervising the technological tests to be conducted on other Eagle Star properties, such as The Bomfim Agro-mineral and The Samba Agro-mineral Projects in an effort to find the most efficient way to move these into production.
