PTSD Foundation of America Will Use New Toyota Vehicle to Help Transport Veterans Enrolled in Their Interim Housing Program at Camp Hope in Houston, TX; Toyota Donating 100 Cars to 100 Nonprofits in 100 Days -- Public to Choose the Winners on Facebook


(firmenpresse) - HOUSTON, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 08/20/12 -- Houston-based PTSD Foundation of America announced today that it has been selected as one of 100 nonprofit winners in Toyota's 100 Cars for Good program. 100 Cars for Good is a major philanthropic initiative in which the automaker is giving 100 cars to 100 nonprofits over the course of 100 days. The PTSD Foundation of America was selected as a winner based on votes from the public on August 10, 2012 on the 100 Cars for Good Facebook page at .

The PTSD Foundation of America has developed a caring and positive interim housing program for veterans with post-traumatic stress called Camp Hope. Camp Hope opened in May of 2012 with the initial capacity of 8 residential veteran units with its family unit breaking ground this fall. Camp Hope is located in a quiet and safe setting whereby veterans and their immediate family members can find healing, help and hope while benefiting from intensive treatment for Post Traumatic Stress.

For 100 consecutive days, between May 14 and August 21, 2012, 100 Cars for Good will profile five finalists at . Individual members of the public are invited to vote for which ever nonprofit they think can do the most good with a new vehicle. The nonprofit with the most votes at the end of each day will win one of six Toyota models. A six-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty will also be provided for each vehicle, compliments of Toyota Financial Services. Runners-up will each receive a $1,000 cash grant from Toyota.

Toyota's philanthropy efforts have contributed more than half a billion dollars to U.S. nonprofits since 1991. 100 Cars for Good is the first initiative to directly engage the public to determine how Toyota's philanthropic donations are awarded.
