KONE to provide eco-efficient People Flow solutions to Scandinavia's largest mall

KONE won an order to deliver and install 33 elevators and 40 escalators at the
Mall of Scandinavia in Sweden. The mall that will be the biggest and most modern
shopping complex in Scandinavia is currently under construction. Contractor Peab
has chosen the market's most eco-efficient elevators to help achieve a BREEAM
Excellent certification of Mall of Scandinavia. KONE's leading People Flow®
solutions will connect shoppers with the seven floors of the mall's retail and
parking area.
With its excellent location in the new city district Arenastaden in Solna, just
seven minutes from Stockholm city, nearly three million people live within a 90-
minute drive of the Mall of Scandinavia. Some 70,000 people work in Solna and
the mall is well connected with local buses, commuter rail and the subway.
Smooth People Flow of the thousands of shoppers the mall will attract daily is a
key part of a pleasant shopping experience.
The mall's developer and owner, Unibail-Rodamco, has very high ambitions both
when it comes to energy efficiency and design. Elevators and escalators are
important when creating a long-lasting impression on shoppers and potential
tenants. The order includes 38 KONE TravelMaster® escalators, two KONE
TravelMaster® inclined autowalks, as well as 13 of the recently launched new
range of KONE MonoSpace® elevators. To ensure an optimized flow of goods within
the shopping center, there will be 20 KONE TranSys® service elevators which
accommodate roller cages and pallets for efficient restocking.

Windgårdh Architects has together with Benoy and Bau designed Mall of
Scandinavia. The contractor is Peab and the owner is Unibail-Rodamco.
Installation of KONE's solutions will begin in 2013 and the mall's inauguration
is scheduled for 2015. The order was booked in the third quarter of 2012.
