OP-Pohjola Acquires Skandia Life Finland on 31 August 2012

OP-Pohjola Group Central Cooperative, OP-Pohjola Group's central institution,
bought on 31 August 2012 the entire share stock of the new Finnish life
insurance company Aurum Investment Insurance Ltd (Aurum) from Skandia Life
Assurance Company, which is part of the Old Mutual Group.
The first press release on the deal was released on 21 December 2011. As a
result of this deal, Skandia Life's portfolio of 100,000 pension, savings and
investment policies was transferred to Aurum, which became a subsidiary to OP-
Pohjola Group Central Cooperative on 31 August 2012. The insurance portfolio was
worth ?1.3 billion on 30 June 2012.
"Skandia Life's customers will gain access to OP-Pohjola Group's comprehensive
financial services and a wide range of loyalty benefits," explains OP Life
Assurance Company's Managing Director Jarmo Kuisma.
From the customer's viewpoint, the most visible change is that the company name
will change from Skandia Life to Aurum before the turn of the year. The fund
selection will continue to be extensive, offering a variety of options. We also
aim to reduce the insurance expenses to customers.
