Omnicare Announces the Appointment of Steven Skwara as Chief Compliance Officer

CINCINNATI, September 5, 2012 - Omnicare, Inc. (NYSE: OCR) today announced
Steven Skwara has been appointed Chief Compliance Officer.
Mr. Skwara will oversee and lead Omnicare's corporate compliance function,
reporting directly to Omnicare's Board of Directors and John L. Workman,
Omnicare's Interim Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Kathleen McGuan who has
served Omnicare with distinction.

extensive background in healthcare law and policy, we had identified him through

Mr. Skwara was formerly Omnicare's Deputy Chief Compliance Officer. Previously,
he served in senior compliance roles at WellCare, Inc. and Blue Cross Blue
Shield of Massachusetts. Joining WellCare in 2010, he helped reshape the
company's compliance program and improve its credibility with federal and state
regulators. In addition, he previously was a partner in the Washington, DC
office of Epstein Becker & Green PC, where he represented health plans and
providers in litigation, including federal False Claims Act cases, and in
compliance-related matters. Mr. Skwara has previously served as an officer and
board member of the National Healthcare Antifraud Association.
Mr. Skwara holds a bachelor's degree from Yale University, and a law degree from
the University of Michigan.
