NTEC Unveils Top 10 Presenting Companies for MEDVENTURES 2012, October 9th
5 From Texas, Including 4 Start-Ups From Dallas/Fort Worth

(firmenpresse) - FRISCO, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 09/06/12 -- The North Texas Enterprise Center (NTEC) for Technology, a leading regional non-profit organization dedicated to assisting medical technology start-up companies, announced the Top 10 Presenting Companies for the MEDVENTURES 2012 event to be held October 9, 2012.
MEDVENTURES 2012 is an annual, regional, early-stage investment and education conference focusing on the medical technology sector. The program includes Angel Investor/Venture Capital panel discussions, healthcare policy updates and presentations by some of the top emerging medical technology companies in the region.
"NTEC received a record 80 applications, and 30 volunteer reviewers from our scientific and business advisory boards selected the Top 10 companies to present," said Dr. Hubert Zajicek, Managing Director - Medical Technology. "We had a strong showing from DFW-based firms and have four represented among the Top 10 presenters. Last year's fundraising total was over $14M in the 10 months following the conference. Seven of the 10 companies received funds with a typical raise being about $2M. Most of these were pre-revenue medtech startups -- a very tough market. This is the 3rd year in a row that the total raised for these Medventures Top 10 was over $14M. With that said, you can expect to see some very worthy startups to present on October 9th, with an above average chance to receive funding in the near future," he added.
