RIB Software AG: strategic acquisition of MC², Memphis, Tennessee, USA
Major step taken in the US market for 5D-BIM technology
STUTTGART, 11 September 2012. RIB Software AG today announced the strategic
acquisition of MC², USA, through the RIB Ltd. subsidiary headquartered in
Hong Kong. The companies have not disclosed the purchase price. Like RIB,
MC²is one of the leading technology companies in the software market for
the global construction sector. With head office in Memphis, Tennessee, the
company focuses on the top-1,000 US construction firms. The acquisition is
part of RIB Software AG's strategy of establishing RIB technology for
five-dimensional planning and construction using iTWO BIM 5D software
through the extensive customer network of MC²in the US market.
MC²is a leading software supplier in the US construction market. As in the
case of RIB, MC²is one of the worldwide pioneers in this market segment -
both companies were founded in the 1960s and have established a network of
customers within the industry. MC²focuses on the top-1,000 construction
firms within the USA.
Thomas Wolf, RIB CEO: 'The acquisition of MC²is a step towards our
objective of successfully positioning our innovative 5D technology on the
US market. Among its long-standing customers, MC²can count the most
important representatives of the industry within the United States. RIB's

US to iTWO BIM 5D. This acquisition represents a major strategic step for

RIB also announced that the development partnership entered into with SAP
AG in 2010 has been ended by mutual agreement.
