ChartWise Medical Systems to Unveil Chartwise:CDI Software at AHIMA 2012
(firmenpresse) - WAKEFIELD, RI -- (Marketwire) -- 09/18/12 -- ChartWise Medical Systems, Inc., (), an innovative Computer-Assisted Clinical Documentation Improvement (CACDI) software company, is set to exhibit its ChartWise:CDI software product at the upcoming 84th American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Convention & Exhibit.
The ChartWise:CDI software shown at AHIMA will include new functionality to help bridge the gap between ICD-9 and ICD-10. ChartWise's software already contains a built-in feature which allows the user to scroll over an ICD-9 code to view its ICD-10 equivalent. The CACDI company is now taking its software a step further by providing additional training tips to ease the transition to the more extensive documentation requirements in the new ICD-10 codes.
"Coding departments have already made great strides to prepare for the conversion to ICD-10, and the clinical documentation specialists and physicians need to be included in those preparations. "Now if you specify the presence of a fracture, for example, the ChartWise:CDI software will not only display the matching ICD-10 code(s), but also provide extensive tips advising the clinical documentation specialist, physician, HIM professional or coder about all of the additional information that would need to be documented to support ICD-10."
Dr. Elion will also be speaking with Darice Grzybowski from H.I.Mentors at the event on the topic of "Best Practices for Clinical Documentation Improvement: Techniques & Technologies." Their discussion will take place at a pre-convention workshop on Sunday, September 30, from 1-2pm CDT.
