SHORT-PITCH RFID TECHNOLOGY NOW AVAILABLE ON PRINTRONIX’S SL4M™ THERMAL PRINTER
(firmenpresse) - Offenbach, Germany - September 19, 2012 - Printronix Inc., a worldwide leader in business-critical printing solutions, today announced the transition to Short-Pitch RFID technology for its popular SL4M Thermal Printer. The new Short-Pitch RFID solution offers businesses the ability to print smaller, more affordable RFID tags. In the past, one of the biggest hurdles to implementing an RFID solution was the cost of the tag or label. Printronix’s new Short-Pitch RFID solution allows businesses to generate smaller labels at lower cost of larger labels making it more affordable to implement a new RFID solution or expand an existing one.
Building on its legacy as a pioneer in RFID technology, Printronix responded to its customers and resellers demands for a low cost RFID tagging solution by adding Short-Pitch technology to its popular SL4M RFID printer. While many of its customers are currently using RFID tags to track large containers or pallets, the ability to print smaller, less expensive RFID tags means they can now afford to tag and track inventory at the item level and potentially save thousands of dollars in lost inventory. The use of RFID technology to provide Auto ID for product and packaging data without human intervention or physical contact is a proven method for improving workflow operations and inventory accuracy. RFID short-pitch technology is especially popular in retail merchandising, manufacturing, logistics and distribution industries where accurate tracking of item level inventory is critical.
Printronix’s SL4M Short-Pitch RFID printer is a reliable, 4 inch thermal printer with a Gen 2 hardware certified UHF RFID encoder. It includes PrintNet Enterprise® Remote Printer Management software, 10/100 Base-T Ethernet, Serial, Parallel and USB 2.0 connectivity and embedded printer language emulation software. Optional wireless 802.11 b/g connectivity is also available.
Availability: Printronix’s new SL4M Short-Pitch RFID Printer will begin shipping on September 28th and is also available as a field installable kit for customers who are already using Printronix’s standard pitch SL4M MP2 RFID printers.
