(firmenpresse) - MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/24/12 -- The 6th Annual Linley Tech Processor Conference kicks off next month with a focus on the rapidly changing market dynamics affecting networking in the enterprise, carrier, and cloud-computing markets, according to The Linley Group, the industry's leading source for independent technology analysis of semiconductors for networking, communications, mobile, and wireless applications. Andy Bechtolsheim, inventor, industry guru, and current chairman of Arista Networks, will deliver a keynote on October 11, providing his views on how continued advances in semiconductor processing will drive the evolution of network switch chips and processors.

The two-day conference will take place October 10-11, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in San Jose, Calif., and features 25 technical presentations, as well as panel discussions, sponsor exhibits, and networking lunches. Topics to be covered include trends in multicore-processor design and programming, "manycore" processors (those with 36 or more CPUs) to address high-speed networking, licensable CPUs, network and platform security, and high-performance memories for networking.
Companies making announcements or providing new technology details include: EZchip will provide the first public details of its newly announced NPS network processor, the first NPU to process layers 2-7 and be both C-programmable and Linux-compatible; GSI Technology will announce its newest high-performance networking memory; LSI will provide a first look at its new ARM-based Axxia architecture; and MoSys will unveil the next device in its series of second-generation Bandwidth Engine® family of ICs.
