(firmenpresse) - HAMBURG, GERMANY and HOVIK, NORWAY and ARNHEM, THE NETHERLANDS and BURLINGTON MA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/02/12 --

"DNV KEMA's global footprint and experience in various emerging markets such as Brazil supports SoWiTec's ambitions," says project manager and service line leader Jens Goesswein DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability. "Our team in Germany will work closely with SoWiTec locally and provide them with the support they need across the entire project development, construction and operation cycles."

The services provided by DNV KEMA will help support project financing, and include verification and reporting of wind measurements, wind and energy yield verification and technical due diligence.

"Put briefly, we will work with SoWiTec on various fronts and as part of the project scope we will review the design basis of the wind turbines, wind turbine towers, electrical distribution system, substation, additional transmission line and utility interconnection and roads. We will also look into the foundations to determine whether the design has been completed in accordance with applicable codes, standards and accepted industry practice," adds Jens Goesswein.

The agreement was formally announced at the Husum Wind Event(1). Speaking on behalf of SoWiTec, Mr. Harald Rudolph, Managing Director and COO of the SoWiTec group, said, "with DNV KEMA, Sowitec has engaged an excellent partner to promote its wind power projects throughout the entire development process. Due to DNV KEMA's experience in renewable energies, especially in Latin America, we are expecting valuable long term cooperation and are looking forward to this promising partnership."

"We are delighted to have secured the framework agreement with SoWiTec," commented Kevin Smith, DNV KEMA's Global Segment Director, Renewable Energy Services. "DNV KEMA is uniquely qualified to meet SoWiTec's objectives through our in-depth experience across a broad array of wind energy services and our global staff. We have worked extensively in Latin America and understand the challenges related to financing of wind projects. We are addressing the needs of project developers, investors and lenders, and also understand performance issues associated with a variety of wind turbine models. All this experience will benefit SoWiTec and we look forward to helping them realize their ambitions in a safe and sustainable manner."
