Titled, "Improving Data Center Efficiency and Reliability," this session will be held on Friday, October 19 at 9:25 am.

"Data centers waste a substantial amount of energy because they are designed for capacity, performance and reliability, usually at the expense of efficiency," said Pfeiffer. "Such waste unnecessarily increases capital and operational expenditures, and resulting in finite resources such as power and space from being exhausted, creating situations where organizations might outgrow their data centers. Through the use of several case studies, Mr. Pfeiffer will show attendees the steps that will improve data center energy efficiency and reclaim valuable resources. At the conclusion of the session, attendees will be able to:

Align server and storage capacity with demand to reduce power consumption by 50% to 60% while maintaining service levels; and
