Inktank Developers Continue Work With Ubuntu to Expand Integration of Ceph Into Ubuntu
(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/16/12 -- Inktank, the only company to provide enterprise-level support for the Ceph Distributed Storage System, today announced that it has partnered with Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu. Inktank is working with engineers at Canonical, as well as the Ubuntu developer community, to continually improve the integration of Ceph distributed storage into Ubuntu, with the next version of Ubuntu 12.10 to be released on the 18th of October.

Ceph was first integrated into the Ubuntu operating system in April 2012 with the release of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Ceph has also been integrated into the Linux kernel.
Inktank engineers have been working with the teams at Canonical and Ubuntu to provide multiple provisioning options for the Ceph storage system. Ceph can now be quickly provisioned via a Charm in Juju, Canonical's open-source service orchestration management tool, making it easier than ever for Ubuntu users to utilize Ceph storage.
