Jack Dorsey Named WSJ. Magazine's Technology Innovator of the Year
Annual Award Honors Most Creative, Disruptive and Influential Individuals in Their Field

Magazine named Jack Dorsey 'Innovator of the Year' for Technology at its annual award ceremony last night at the Museum of Modern Art. The award honors the most creative, disruptive, and influential individuals across six categories including Fashion, Architecture, Design, Education, Art and Technology. Dorsey, 35, was recognized for his work as CEO of Square, Executive Chairman of Twitter and co-founder of both companies.
Dorsey founded Twitter in 2006 and Square in 2009 and plays an active role in both companies. Twitter is a real-time information network that connects people to the latest stories, ideas, opinions and news around the world. Square is making commerce easy for everyone. Starting with empowering millions of individuals and businesses with the ability to accept credit cards, Square builds the tools businesses of all types and sizes need to grow for free.

The Innovators of the Year were chosen by editors of WSJ. Magazine with input from a select group of experts in each field. Ray Chambers, United Nations Secretary-General's MDG Advocate and Special Envoy for Malaria, presented Dorsey with the award.
Dorsey was recognized alongside The Row, founded by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (Fashion); Wang Shu (Architecture); Patrick Kinmonth (Design); Eric Eisner (Education) and Theaster Gates (Art).
