New Survey From Hogan Assessments Highlights What Makes the Perfect Job
Research Indicates That Salary Isn't the Most Important Factor
(firmenpresse) - TULSA, OK -- (Marketwire) -- 10/24/12 -- Some people think the perfect job is all about the perks -- big paycheck, flexible hours, or extra vacation time -- and companies are increasingly embracing to attract talented employees. New survey results from , however, paint a different picture.
For "The Perfect Job," Hogan asked nearly 1,000 working adults to identify the factors that would contribute to their ideal job. An overwhelming number of respondents, roughly 62 percent, said having "interesting and meaningful work" was the most important factor in their perfect job. Ten percent said responsibility and control over one's work, and only 8 percent said salary was a determining factor.
"This is major departure from traditional thinking," said Ryan Ross, vice president of global alliances at Hogan. "Meeting workers' needs for more meaning and autonomy will mean a culture shift for many companies. The upside, I suppose, is that they don't necessarily need to build that basketball court in the middle of their offices, although it couldn't hurt."
