Hilde Tonne appointed Deputy Head of Asia Region

(Fornebu, 27 May) Telenor Group today announced that Ms. Hilde Tonne (44) is
appointed Deputy Head of Asia Region. The appointment will strengthen management
and operational attention towards Telenor's Asian subsidiaries.

- I look forward to being part of our regional team in Asia. This fast growing
region represents a substantial part of the future of the company, and Telenor
is positioned as a major player in the industry. That is something I want to
contribute to, said Hilde Tonne, Executive Vice President (EVP), Head of
Communications and CR at Telenor Group. - My move to Asia is also motivated by a
wish to come closer to the operational business and to combine my group
experience with local focus in the marketplace, said Hilde Tonne.

- The Deputy Head of Asia Region is a new position that we established in order
to strengthen top management and operational attention towards the group's Asian
subsidiaries, said Sigve Brekke, EVP and Head of the Asia Region. - Tonne will
lead and professionalise performance management, governance, operational
efficiency measures and industrial development across business units in the
region, said Mr. Brekke

- We are very pleased that Hilde Tonne will take on the new position in Asia.
She has contributed significantly in her current role in the Group Executive
Management and I am confident that Telenor in Asia will benefit from her long
leadership experience and strong operational focus, said Telenor President and
CEO, Mr. Jon Fredrik Baksaas. - Tonne has also been a key leader in the
reinforcement of Telenor corporate responsibility work, especially in the follow
up on our health security and environment work. That is a valuable experience
that I am glad she brings with her to the region, said Mr. Baksaas.

The position in located at the Telenor Group head office Asia in Bangkok and it




will report to Sigve Brekke, EVP and Head of Asia Region. Hilde Tonne will take
up her new position on August the 1(st).

Hilde Tonne joined Telenor for her current position in 2007. She came from Norsk
Hydro, where she in her last position was the Head of Technology & Reserarch in
Hydro Oil & Energy. Ms. Tonne serves on the Board of Directors in Det Norske
Veritas AS and Statkraft AS. She has a Master of Science from the Norwegian
Institute of Technology in Trondheim, Norway and RWTH Aachen in Germany.
