Flexible Enterprise Solution Helps State Governments Meet the Requirements and Federally Prescribed Timeframes for Healthcare Insurance Exchanges

In September 2011, Oracle announced its -- consisting of a modular footprint of Oracle software and hardware capabilities architected to work together -- that provides state governments with the functionality and services required to help ensure Health Insurance Exchange (HIX) success.
In the last twelve months, many early adopter states as well as a number of strategic systems integrators have selected the Oracle HIX solution, creating a large Oracle ecosystem across the nation.
Oracle's comprehensive integrated solution for HIX includes ; or , , , , , and components of , including , , and , as well as , , and . It can support Health and Human Service programs and core business functions such as eligibility and enrollment; case management, client assessments, billings, collections and premium reconciliation; customer service; premium tax credit tracking; broker management; payment processing and financial and management reporting. The Oracle HIX solution runs on infrastructure which delivers extreme performance in a high availability, fault tolerant environment while simplifying and reducing the costs associated with purchasing, deploying and supporting IT environments.
As Jan. 1, 2014 quickly approaches, time is running out for states to procure and implement a full state-based exchange solution. Oracle offers its modularized architected solutions that uniquely align with each of the Federally Facilitated Exchange (FFE) Partnership models.
Under the FFE Partnership models, states have several options using Oracle's modular approach. For example, a state may quickly implement one of the partnership options leveraging Oracle's engineered systems in either an on-premise or cloud solution. This approach provides states with optimum performance while significantly reducing the infrastructure setup timelines as well as offsetting some of the risks associated with employing multiple hardware vendors.
