Literacy Advocate Monica Holloway Gives Special Wonder of the Day for National Family Literacy Day, November 1
(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/01/12 -- Family literacy advocate and critically-acclaimed memoir author Monica Holloway will provide a Wonder of the Day® on Wonderopolis.org®, a site recently rated as one of the "top-10 free educational websites for kids" by Parenting Magazine, in observance of National Family Literacy Day® on November 1, 2012.
Created by the National Center for Family Literacy, Wonderopolis features a new Wonder each day, with the goal of providing learning moments in everyday life. Recent Wonders have included facts on fonts, wind farms, and talking parrots. Holloway's wonder will feature fish.
Inspired by her son Wills' interest in fish and aquariums, including his three fresh water fish tanks that he maintains himself, Holloway's wonder is titled "Do Fish in Aquariums Swim in Freshwater or Saltwater?"
Holloway, a National Center for Family Literacy Advisory Board Member, was emcee of the National Conference on Family Literacy in 2012 and Keynote Speaker in 2011, with each event drawing over 1,200 educators, community leaders, philanthropists and government officials dedicated to family literacy.
