Companies with ongoing trials include Abbott, Fresenius Kabi, Nutricia and Nestlé. A number of trials are attempting to differentiate the effects of individual nutrients. However, many trials are small scale, which calls into question the statistical power of these studies in detecting the size of the effect of the study intervention.
