New MobileSTOR & TowerSTOR - Single Bay Enclosures With Dual and Triple Interfaces: eSATA, USB 3.0 / FireWire 800
(firmenpresse) - Sans Digital released a new line of single-bay enclosures featuring eSATA, FireWire 800, and USB 3.0 with support for the fast USB Attached SCSI Protocol (UASP). Many storage enclosures in the market today provide a USB 3.0 interface. However, when pinned against a real world environment, USB 3.0 never seem to operate at its true transfer rate at 5 Gb/s, until now.
Not all USB 3.0-based solutions are created equal. USB Attached SCSI is a newly developed USB 3.0 protocol that replaces the older USB 2.0 BOT protocol providing efficient data transfers at true USB 3.0 performance. UASP helps to completely make use of USB 3.0's high-speed possibilities by implementing features such as Four-Pipe Model and Command queuing. These architectural changes to USB 3.0, allows for multi-threading and paralleling data which eliminates the hand shake approach for transferring the next block of data. These new architectures take USB 3.0 to the next level in performance and will allow users to take advantage of USB 3.0’s true performance potential on both the MobileSTOR and TowerSTOR enclosures and on the host.
The new single-bay Sans Digital models that will take advantage of the UASP feature are the TowerSTOR TS1UT+B (Black Finish with eSATA and USB 3.0) and the TS1CT+ (Silver Finish with eSATA, FW800, and USB3.0).
For users looking for the convenience of hot swapping hard drives on the fly, the new MobileSTOR MS1UT+B (Black Finish with USB3.0 and eSATA) and the MS1CT+ (Silver Finish with eSATA, USB 3.0, and FW800) comes with hot-swappable 3.5” inch hard drive trays which will allow users to change hard drives even while powered on. The hard drive trays are also interchangeable with certain models of the MobileSTOR or MobileRAID series to provide ultimate compatibility between various units.
The TS1CT+, TS1UT+B, MS1CT+, and MS1UT+B combine fanless design and aluminum housing to provide quiet yet cool operation. The lightweight and sturdy enclosures are designed for portability. With Super Speed USB 3.0 Interface (5Gb/s) with UASP, as well as eSATA 6G and FW 800, MobileSTOR and TowerSTOR products provide the best performance and connectivity in the market and are ideal storage solutions for creative professionals and personal backup.
