Atea is one of the three most skilled IT companies who work professionally with
reducing carbon emissions in the Nordic countries.
For the second consecutive year Atea is in top three of IT companies working
professionally to reduce carbon emissions in the Nordic countries, according to
the recently published "Nordic Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index". Atea comes
in as number 13 on the list rating all Nordic companies. The index shows exactly
how much carbon organizations emit, their ability to measure and present the
results and their corporate strategy to reduce carbon consumption.
"Working professionally with reducing carbon emissions produces provable results
- also financially. The better we systemize our measurements and processes, and
the better we are at informing about the importance of reducing carbon
emissions, the greater the results. Therefore, it is a success that our work
scores so high on the Nordic level," says Claus Hougesen, CEO of Atea ASA.
The Nordic Carbon Disclosure survey also shows that efforts to reduce carbon
emissions continue to generate a high and quick return on investment. Out of
490 surveyed initiatives, it is expected that 130 of these have earned
themselves in after just one year, and 248 have done so within three years.
"We cannot save the world, but we can inspire customers to make better decisions
about green IT solutions, and that of course also goes for ourselves. In Atea we
focus, among other things, on car sharing, new energy efficient buildings,
virtualization, intelligent print and copy solutions, mobility solutions and
video conferencing. We can see from the survey that working with Green IT and
reduction of carbon emissions was much more hyped four years ago, but now the
advantage is that the trend has found its natural level, which means that
thinking green has become a more natural part of IT solutions, and therefore
customers demand ongoing advice in this area," says Claus Hougesen.
Atea is the leading provider of IT infrastructure and services in the Nordic and
Baltic countries, and Green IT is central to Atea. Atea has several green
concepts, goITloop and goITgreen, which make it simple for customers to think
more green and sustainable.
