Make-A-Wish(R) Canada Honours Founders and Volunteers with Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/22/12 -- This weekend, Make-A-Wish® Canada founders Nigel Brown and Robb Lucy will be presented with Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals in recognition of their contributions to the wish granting organization since its inception nearly 30 years ago.
"In 1983, it was the commitment and drive of these two individuals that brought our magical wish granting mission to life here in Canada," said Bob Winterford, President Make-A-Wish Canada. "Not only do I want to congratulate these individuals, but I want to thank them for their perseverance and desire to make a difference in the world."
In addition, this fall, regional chapters from coast-to-coast will award Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals to 23 chosen community members in recognition of their support and contributions to local wish granting efforts.

The commemorative medal was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal is a tangible way for Canada to honour Her Majesty for her service to this country. At the same time, it serves to honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians.
