As the Vice President of Emerging Markets, Ms. Smith is charged with expanding Socrata's impact around the world and supporting a growing ecosystem of product and go-to-market partners.
An innovative business leader, Ms. Smith brings 20 years of experience, ranging from driving economic development at the World Trade Centers Association to entrepreneurial leadership at high-growth mobile startups, to leading industry solutions at global technology giant Microsoft. She served most recently as Worldwide Industry Managing Director for Local and Regional Government at Microsoft, where she developed the product, channel, and go-to-market strategy for the public sector business. Her efforts contributed to Microsoft's direct and channel partner sales and resulted in double-digit growth in a multi-billion dollar government sector.
