Criteria for the winning blogs included providing cutting edge technology tips, fascinating video blog content, or a blog that has simply burst onto the scene and impressed members by 'rocking the boat'.

giffgaff got in touch with Gizmodo and MSE, who were both delighted to be selected by giffgaff's community members. Sam Gibbs at Gizmodo said that he was "pretty chuffed" to be awarded 'Blog with attitude' by giffgaff, who he highlighted was "a surprisingly tight ship considering that quite a lot of it is run by its users." Elsewhere, Archna Luthra at Money Saving Expert (MSE) explained that it is the site's "relevant, topical info that readers can learn from" which makes the tips and deals blog so engaging.
giffgaff is run on the belief that there is a better way to do mobile, and part of that vision is its democratic way of doing business. giffgaff's members are involved at every level, from recruiting new members and facilitating customer service, to contributing on marketing and price decisions.
