The Business School of the University of Mannheim has a new Junior Professor of SCM
Gerd Hahn, Camelot Junior Professor(firmenpresse) - Mannheim, December 2012: The University of Mannheim, Business School welcomes a new Junior Professor: Dr. Gerd Jürgen Hahn accepts the call of the University and is going to begin in his function as Junior Professor for Supply Chain Management in the Area Operations Management. The new professorship for Supply Chain Management (SCM) was funded by the strategy and organization consultancy Camelot Management Consultants.
“In Dr. Gerd Jürgen Hahn we have gained a top-class scientist with extensive practical experience”, explains Dean Dr. Jürgen M. Schneider. The area Operations Management at the University of Mannheim is thereby growing from three professorships currently to a total of four. With the endowed Junior Professorship the strategy and organizational consultancy Camelot Management Consultants seeks to make a contribution to the on-going development and deepening of the Area Supply Chain Management at one of the leading European Business Schools.

A chairholder with established practical experience is therefore the ideal appointment,’’ says Packowski.
The appointment commission of the University of Mannheim decided amongst a number of outstanding applicants in favor of the 31-year old supply chain expert.
Gerd Juergen Hahn (31) gained his doctorate/Ph.D. on "Value-based Performance and Risk Optimization in Supply Chains" at the Chair of Prof. Dr. Heinrich Kuhn at the Catholic University of Eichstaett-Ingolstadt with the highest distinction "summa uuups laude". In addition to his scientific research, Hahn has been working since 2007 as a consultant and project manager in an international strategy consulting firm. His teaching activities included a position as visiting lecturer at the School of Economics of the University of Eichstaett-Ingolstadt at the Chair of Supply Chain Management & Operations, as well as being guest lecturer at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. He graduated with a diploma degree in Business Administration, majoring in Management Science, at the University of Eichstaett-Ingolstadt in 2006.
