Tekelec's DSR was chosen because of its ability to manage rapid and unpredictable LTE Diameter signaling traffic. The DSR supports hundreds of thousands of messages per minute, tens of millions of concurrent sessions, and hundreds of millions of subscribers and devices. It also mediates Diameter protocol variants and provides protocol interworking to help operators effectively manage 2G/3G-to-LTE and LTE-to-LTE roaming.
The DSR acts as the central nervous system of the , which relies on the Diameter protocol to exchange network, subscriber, policy, and charging information supporting mobile data activity.
