Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands - Ahold has repurchased 1,030,644 Ahold common shares
in the period from May, 17, 2010 up to and including May, 21, 2010. The shares
were repurchased at an average price of ? 10.1669 per share for a total
consideration of ? 10.48 million. These repurchases were made as part of the ?
500 million share buyback program announced on March 4, 2010.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is
7,086,814 common shares for a total consideration of ? 72 million.
